A Message from Pastor Hollie Miller and the Transition Committee
To our Brothers and Sisters in Christ at Sevier Heights:
Through the years, God has used Sevier Heights in special ways through the leadership of faithful Pastors. God has used the last 31 years of leadership to uniquely position Sevier Heights to have an opportunity to reach Knoxville and the surrounding communities for Christ. As God has been faithful in the past, we are convinced He will continue to be faithful in the future.
In our effort to be completely transparent with the church, we are enclosing the following timeline which describes what has occurred up to this point.

September 10, 2018
September 23, 2018
September 30, 2018
On September 30, a church vote approved the Transition Committee. In light of the deacon vote earlier that afternoon, Deacon Chairman Mike Bolton stood before the church and made the request to the Transition Committee that Tim Miller be considered before any other candidates.

The Committee will schedule meetings with Staff, Group Leaders and Worship Ministry. Additionally, on October 23, there will be an open forum to provide opportunities to learn more about Tim and his heart for Sevier Heights. To submit your questions for Tim to answer in this October 23 meeting, email them to firstname.lastname@example.org. We will continue updating the church throughout this process.
Transition Committee and I are humbled the church put their trust in us to lead in the search of the next Senior Pastor of Sevier Heights. We take this responsibility very seriously and we covet your prayers. Our only desire is to attempt to find the man God has chosen to serve Sevier Heights and to recommend him to the church.
For the glory of God,
Bro. Hollie Miller
The Transition Committee
September 23, 2018
Our senior pastor, Hollie Miller, announced he will step down from his ministry at Sevier Heights. This decision is the result of many months of seeking God through prayer and fasting. He and Paula believe this will allow the future church leadership to guide Sevier Heights into her greatest days.
For over 30 years, Pastor Miller and his wife, Paula, have loved and led us well. We’re partnering with them in praying for the next ministry assignment God has for them, as well as for the future of Sevier Heights.
Their last Sunday will be February 3. On September 30, Pastor Miller will share the names of the people he has asked to serve on a Transition Committee to help lead us through this next season. We will vote on this committee during our 6:00 p.m. service on September 30 at our Main Campus.
