People were made for relationships. We hunger for the deep, authentic relationships Jesus had in mind when He prayed that His followers would be one. Yet in many churches, the connection we crave is lacking.
Sevier Heights strive a be a place where we travel life’s journey together through Small Groups.
A Small Group is a group of four to five married couples or six to eight individuals of the same gender that meet weekly (your preference on time and location). Our goal is that no one stands alone. Whether you’re a Christian or not, seeking the things of God or just skeptical, we’d love for you to give Small Groups a try.
How long does a Small Group last?
Each small group will commit to meet for a twelve month period. Groups will not meet as frequently during the summer and holiday months.
When do Small Groups meet?
Each group decides when and where it wants to meet. Most groups meet at least 3 times a month. As individuals seek to join a Small Group, we help them find people that are meeting on a particular night. Most of our Small Groups meet in group members’ homes. Some groups choose to meet at the church.
How long does a Small Group meeting last?
A typical small group meeting lasts 1-1.5 hours. However, it is unique for each group.
How is time spent during Small Group?
We recommend fellowship time (5-10 minutes), opening prayer and announcements (5 minutes), Bible study discussion (20 minutes), smaller pairings (10-15 minutes) and with closing prayers in the smaller pairings. Of course, this is only a recommended schedule.
Can I join a group if I don’t go to SHBC?
Absolutely! Inform your friends, neighbors, family members, coworkers and casual acquaintances about your Small Group study. Most of our study materials are appropriate for both believers and those not attending a church.

What does it cost?
Nothing. There may be some expense for literature depending upon your chosen small group. If you have problems with buying the literature, talk to your leader and they will work it out.
