MissionFest 2008
At first there is not much to see. A small particle lands in the dirt. You might miss it, because it is small. t might not survive long, but it could take root, thrive and grow into something mighty and productive.
Our mission is about planting. We plant seeds. Jesus said “The seed is the word of God.” We share it in small particles here and there. Because it has Life in it, it has un-ending potential.
We plant lives. We plug ourselves in where our God has placed us. Some are also placed in other parts of the world, and it is our responsibility to assist them with planting themselves there to enlarge the impact of our mission.
We plant churches. This year we will engage that part of the mission in a greater way than we have been. As a church, we will participate in beginning a new church full of planted lives planting seeds.
On Sunday night, January 13 we will meet at 6:00 in the sanctuary, and then move to classrooms for a ministry fair, in which we will have the opportunity to explore planting our lives, and assisting those who are planting theirs. Some will be about local work, and others about work around the world. Near and far, we can be involved in seeing the kingdom of God grow.
