How To Know God

Knowing God isn't as hard as it seems. This is how you can know Him.

He Already Wants To Know You

Knowing God is really a lot more simple than you might think or have read. In fact, receiving God’s gift of eternal life is as simple as ABC. Let’s walk through it together using the Bible as our guide.

Admit

Admit you are a sinner in the eyes of Holy God.
“There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:22b-23

Admit you deserve God’s punishment, eternal separation from Him.
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23

Believe

Believe that Jesus Christ, God’s Son, died for your sins.
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

Believe Christ was raised from the dead.
“For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.” 1 Corinthians 15:3-4

Commit

Commit your life to Christ as Savior and Lord.
This act of commitment is like getting married – simple but totally life-changing! It means…

  • You turn away from the old life.
“But unless you repent, you too will all perish.” Luke 13:5
  • You receive a person into your life. This person is Jesus Christ.
“Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.” John 1:12
  • “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.” Revelation 3:20

You can express your faith in Christ through a simple prayer:
Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner and need Your forgiveness. I believe You died to pay the penalty for my sins. I believe Your were raised from the dead. Right now, I want to turn from my sins. I ask You to change my life. I receive You as my Savior and my Lord. Thank you for giving me eternal life. Amen.
